Editorial standards
These are the rules our editors follow for everything we publish.
Accuracy
We check facts against reliable sources, such as official statistics, published research and recognised experts. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and note the correction at the end of the article.
Independence
Our editors decide what we cover. Advertisers and sponsors don't approve, edit or preview our independent articles. Sponsored content is always labelled clearly (see our sponsored content policy).
Balance and advice
Our articles about health, money, investing and law are general information, not personal advice. We explain risks as well as benefits, and we encourage readers to speak with a qualified professional about their own situation.
How we use technology
Our editors may use software tools, including AI writing tools, to help research, organise or draft articles. Every article is reviewed, edited and approved by a human editor before it's published, and the editor is responsible for it.
Curated picks
When we recommend stories from other publications, we summarise them in our own words, credit the original publisher and link to it. We never copy other publishers' articles or photos.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please let us know. We review every correction request.
